Who is our president?

There is no doubt among Americans that our country was ready for a president that falls into the category of “minority”. While some people feel that his opposition comes from racial tension, that is not the general consensus among most Americans. There is no doubt that our country is largely divided into liberal and conservative groups (some more extreme than others), but the general opinion is confusion, and question.
one thing that President Obama has going for him is his eloquence, and swag. He conducts himself as if he were one of the great presidents of the U.S.A. but make no mistake he is not one of the greats. which brings up the first question about who our president is. For any other president we have been able to trace there family history leading to possibly one of the most proud moments an American family could have, and that is placing one of its members at the highest most influential position this country has, the Presidency. The fact is we don’t really know where he came from. Was he raised by his mother, or grandmother? Who or where is his father? What school’s did he attend early in his life? And I wont even get into the birth certificate thing. These things may be minor in the big picture but it’s almost as if he is hiding something and this creates a feeling of unease among Americans.
The other question many Americans have is, what is he doing. It seems like every week we have a new Czar, or government agency that is going to fix everything. In this poor economy we might be accepting to a little help from our government. The problem is we haven’t seen any improvement with all the federalization. Overall we know he is busy, but we have made no gains. So who are you Mr. President and what are you doing?

As one of the largest providers of telecommunication services within China, this telecom network giant will be expanding its borders to the rest of the world.

Technology making us lazy or making life just plain easy?

In today’s society technology has become a life necessity. Let’s face it, technology has made our lives easier. However some people would see this as making lives lazy. You can perceive it both ways actually. What I mean by this is that yes, technology has most definitely made our lives easier today than people had it 10 years ago or more. But yes it can also make people lazy. If you rely on technology for everything and it causes you to not lift a finger to do anything, then that is just laziness. Use technology to an extent and do not let it cause you to let it shut you down socially and break your hard work ethic.

Most people use some aspects of technology as ways to socialize. This does make lives easy as far as making friends and meeting people. But do not let it stop there. Actually meet people in person and get out in the world. There is so much out there that you cannot experience from your computer or video game consoles. Yes technology makes work easier, but do not cause that to lose your hard work ethics that you were raised with and certainly do not let that cause you to not instill these ethics in our children whom are our future leaders of the world.

What I ask you is, what do you think that technology does to us as a society. Does it cause us to be lazy people? Does it cause us to be a world in which relies on technology alone, a technology that can be shut down or disrupted and then where will we be as a society if we do not have any skills. For example if people rely on computers for calculating and counting, then they went out and we didn’t know how to figure this out without them. Where would we be? Technology is constantly advancing, and the news and other media advertisers such as magazines and television commercials advertise for technology every day. Use technology as it is intended, which is to make life easier and to have fun, but not to be lazy.

China says yuan rise can’t solve trade imbalance with U.S.

Making the yuan exchange rate increase cannot resolve the United States trade inequality with China, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China announced on Friday, hitting back at designed U.S. Senate legislation intended at enforcing China to loosen controls on its currency exchange.

“China is not in a position to see an inequality in trade b/n the United States and China, and China doesn’t look for a trade leftover,” Hong Lei, Ministry spokesman informed in a usual news briefing.

“The government of China also has by no means targeted to get advantage from worldwide trade via the so-called exchange rate manipulation,” he further noted.

“The yuan’s exchange increment cannot solve the Chaina-U.S. trade inequality trouble. We hope that pertinent individual in the U.S. can rationally and objectively view this topic and not politicize the renminbi’s currency exchange rate as a result of U.S. domestic economic troubles.”
N.B. people’s currency, or “Renminbi,” is the yuan’s official name.

The Ministry of Foreign has no comment in China’s currency exchange policy; however it is characteristically the only government ministry that will commonly suggest on the issue.

China has repetitively discarded criticism that it intentionally undervalues its Renminbi currency to provide its companies a price benefit in worldwide markets.

It says it is dedicated to moving to an extra flexible currency exchange rate however at its own pace.

“We will continue to encourage the (Renminbi currency exchange rate) mechanism’s restructuring, and we will have a step by step approach that is along with the economic benefits of both China and the globe,” Hong added.

The Senate bill, certain to worsen relation with China that are by now strained over United States arms sales to Taiwan and a range of other concerns, would still face several hurdles prior to becoming law.

United States business promotion groups in China — frightening such a law could ignite a trade war — have called on Washington to pay attention more on other pressing concerns, for instance market access and intellectual property protection in China.

The legislation integrates 2 previous bipartisan actions, one prepared by Brown, a Democrat, and Senator Olympia Snowe, a Republican. The other prepared by Democratic Senator Charles Schumer and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham;

Politics and Social Corporate Responsibility

The notion of evil corporations is one of the most enduring bogeys of our age. There have been no shortage of words spoken, written and sung about “them”. We’ve all seen movies that have an evil corporation – usually one that produces pharmaceutical products – callously showing a disregard for human life and dignity. The sad thing is that these archetypes do, unfortunately, many times depict reality. Not that these organizations are by nature evil. Their purpose, however, is to make money. And with that goal in mind, a certain amount of ruthlessness is to be expected from them. Since the 1960′s, the idea of corporate social responsibility has been engendered, making the duty that corporations owe to those affected by their business more readily apparent and addressable.
The notion of social corporate responsibility is an intuitive, though not always readily apparent, one. The foundation of the idea is very easy to sum up: corporations have a responsibility to their consumers, and they need to meet that responsibility. There are many approaches to doing so, however. Some corporations may have an outreach program of some sort, in which they help to develop areas or communities that lack certain integral facilities need. They may help to build a school or a water treatment center. Some manufacturing corporations take the way of environmental control – that is, regulating their environmental foot print and/or pollution and decreasing them to harmless levels.

This principle is not without its critics. Some have suggested that since only people can be said to have social obligations, corporations cannot be held socially accountable, since a corporation is not a person. Others have voiced concerns that social corporate responsibility is nothing more than hypocrisy, an attempt to assuage a token concern while misdirecting the focus of public concern away from the true issues. In their eyes, the attempts of these corporations to adhere to whatever social responsibility they night have is but a thin veneer for their true agenda. Despite these criticisms, the notion of social corporate responsibility continues to flourish worldwide. A Country that is very much proactive on the field of Social Corporate Responsibility is the Netherlands. The topic is called there “maatschappelijk verantwoord ondernemen“. A lot of big compagnies are involved there.

Is The New Facebook Layout, For Better or For Worse?

This past Thursday, September 22, 2011, Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerburg, introduced the new format. The first thing we got sent, was an email about the change. In that email, you were told that your email was now turned off on your Facebook account, which meant that unless you chose to turn it back on under your account page, you were no longer receiving post emails. For many, this is a time saver in our busy days.

The other thing, that many Facebook users were complaining about, is the new time line that was added. Many didn’t want to know their friend’s business. It’s set up so that it’s hard for you to remove yourself off the time line. But you can remove all 600 plus of your friends off and they can remove you if anyone wants to perform this tedious task. But for business owners, this is the Grammies of getting their products and their services sold. The impulse shopping, got to have, on the internet. You’re on your Facebook account page, reading your newsfeed and front page posts, then to the right, along comes a pair of Kswiss tubes, that your friends ordered that you got to have. You stop and click. Setup and submit the order. You’re done. Your back on your account page, waiting for your new shoes to be delivered. Most business owners are in love with this feature because it’s economic gains for them.

Another thing that Facebook users are upset about is the new removable like button. You now have the option to remove the like button, before you submit your post if you want too now. But many of your friends may be happy that they can’t just click like for your post.

A cool new feature that was added on facebook, is the link share button. When you click on share, you are now sharing the same link and photos of the original poster and the response is aligned. Along with that, the blue corners were added for story posts.

On both Thursday and Friday nights, TV news stations were airing the complaints coming from users and how happy business owners were about this time line. Got to have. On friday night, they aired Mark Zuckerburg, at a Facebook press conference, with his colleagues, unveiling the new format. Mark thinks that this is going to keep Facebook, above Google (with their new social network) who is gaining on them right now. He said that we are now at where businesses absolutely need the fast gains of social networking to be successful today.

With all this said, Facebook is opening, for the first time next month, on the stock market. For everyday users, the new format is going to take a little getting used to. For business owners and professional writers, it’s grade A.

Libyan rebels reach Tripoli

Libya is a country in North Africa and currently there is a conflict on Libya between the rebels and Muammar Gaddafi. Over the decades Libya was occupied by Italy, and then Libya gained independence but it was far from being a democratic country. Muammar Gaddafi has been ruling Libya more than three decades and during this period Gaddafi had earned bad international reputation because he was actively cooperating with the global terrorist groups. In early 2011 Gaddafi’s government faced with political protests. In its earlier period these protests had local character it was kind of easy to repress the protesters. However, over the several months local protests, which were in different cities has become a civil war in Libya.

Libyan rebels are residents of Libya who are not satisfied with the regime of Gaddafi. They are trying to change the government and destroy Gaddafi’s regime. Of course it would be too hard to complete without help of western countries. Libyan rebels were formed by different tribes who live in Libya. Some analytics claim that the battles between these tribes are impossible to avoid after Gaddafi. So the role of western countries is very high and they should help rebels to destroy Gaddafi’s regime and then overcome the hardships of post-war period.

Rebels received a great help by the United States and Europe. Particularly, the air military forces started bombing Tripoli and other big cities where major forces of Gaddafi’s army’s location. They also protected the rebels from air attacks. The political news was contradictory. According to Gaddafi’s regime western countries are trying to occupy the country and get the oil resources of Libya. The news about civil war in Libya and the military successes also were controversial. Many times the rebels were stated that they already have taken the situation under the control and later on the same news was disclaimed by the Gaddafi’s supporters. Only on 21th of August it was obvious that the rebels reached Tripoli and Gaddafi’s regime is over.

Let’s hope that this time Libya got its real independence and the economy of Libya will be developed quickly and Libyans will have chance to live in a democratic country.

Fuel prices drop as rebels reach Tripoli

If you have been filling up the tank recently, and keeping your eye on the news, you probably have noticed the sharp drop in the prices of crude oil, due to the conflicts in Libya dying down, and the Libyan rebels reaching Tripoli. This is not only a relief for us here in the US, who have seen some of the greatest hikes in the price of fuel in recent years, but it is also a relief for the troops, and the residents of those living in and around the Libyan borders, in hope that things will return to order in the country.

The brent crude features fell 1.8 percent, to $106.7 per barrel of gas, while the US sweet, light crude oil, remained at a steady $82.9 per barrel. So, what does this mean for us here in the US? Most likely, if the prices of the barrel continue to fall, we are going to see that much wanted break at the pump, and will see the cost of gas begin to decrease within the next few days, and on the upcoming weeks. Since Libya is such a large exporter of oil to the US, 12th largest oil exporter in the world, the world markets are hoping and predicting that the end to the conflict in Libya, will mean that they will begin producing oil to the previous levels they were producing at, and will begin to increase on the global supplies.

So, if you are awaiting that much needed drop in the price of fuel, you may be seeing it within the next few days. Since production hit an all time low during the conflict in Libya, now that the troops have entered, we can hope that they will begin to produce at the levels they were producing at prior to this political war, and, that we can expect the decrease at the pump. So, as most analysts have been predicting, if the oil production rises to the level it was at prior to the war, we can expect to see the prices drop, and quickly, the next time we go to fill up our tanks, which, will be a much needed savings at the pump for US drivers.
